17th edition of Headies Awards was held on Sunday, 27 April 2025, at Landmark Event Centre in Lagos state, after being held for two years in Atlanta, USA.
Nancy Isime hosted this year’s Headies Awards, marking the first woman to host an award ceremony solo.
Those who were awarded in the music industry included Liya, Lojay, Qing Madi Tems, Zerry DL, Flavour, Odumodublvck Rema, and Davido.
The 2025 ceremony introduced two new categories — Soundtrack of the Year and Best Performer (Live).
Apart from celebrities in the Nigerian entertainment industry, the event was also attended by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso; and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux whose traditional wedding and white wedding to Priscilla Ojo was held in Nigeria earlier in April.
