7 Nigerian Players On The List Of 30 CAF Women’s Player Of The Year Award

Nigerian players dominated the nominees’ list for the 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Player of the Year award, with seven players named among the 30 contenders.

Ballon d’Or nominee and Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, leads the Nigerian charge alongside Rasheedat Ajibade, Uchenna Kanu, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Osinachi Ohale, Toni Payne and Christy Ucheibe.

The Super Falcons’ head coach, Randy Waldrum, was also nominated for coach of the year, while Deborah Abiodun, Esther Ajakaye and Oluwatosin Demehin were nominated for Best Young Player of the Year.

The 2023 CAF awards will be held on December 11 in Marrakech, Morocco.
