Peter Obi Condemns Attack On NLC Chairman

Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has condemned the wicked attack on the chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero in Imo State on Wednesday.

Recall that the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force allegedly abducted Ajaero in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

His abduction was confirmed by Benson Upah, head of information of NLC.

Though, the police denied arresting him but said it saved the labour leader from a mob attack.

But Obi in a statement on Thursday said the incident “has come as a rude shock to most Nigerians.

According to the former governor of Anambra State, the attack on Ajaero says a lot about the state of affairs in our country today.”

“It shows the level of lawlessness, impunity, criminality, and rascality that have engulfed our dear country. Things like this should worry any discerning mind because it runs counter to the type of country that we all desire and deserve

“In the New Nigeria of our dreams, abuse of power and the reckless violation of citizens’ rights through acts of impunity will have no place.”
