Uganda and Uzbekistan Forge Diplomatic Ties with Memorandum of Understanding Signing

Uganda and Uzbekistan have formalized their commitment to establishing diplomatic relations through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U). The historic event unfolded on the sidelines of the ongoing 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs for Uganda, Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakar, and H.E. Bakhromjon Aloyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, came together to ink the M.O.U. This document symbolizes the mutual desire of both nations to foster diplomatic ties, strengthen cooperation, and promote friendly relations.

The signing ceremony, held against the backdrop of the 19th NAM Summit, marks a significant stride in the diplomatic landscape of both Uganda and Uzbekistan. The Non-Aligned Movement, known for its commitment to promoting peace, stability, and cooperation among member nations, provided a fitting platform for this momentous occasion.
