Paris Dominates FIBA 3×3 World Tour Lausanne 2024, Defeats Raudondvaris Hoptrans 21-15 In Final

Lausanne, Switzerland – The FIBA 3×3 World Tour Lausanne 2024 witnessed a display of brilliance from Paris (FRA) as they claimed the title with a commanding 21-15 victory over Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU) in the final on August 17, 2024. The tournament featured a clash of Olympic medalists, with both teams showcasing members from the Paris Olympic contingent, representing their respective nations of France and Lithuania.

Paris was in unstoppable form throughout the tournament, going undefeated in Lausanne and setting the pace from the very beginning. Their journey to the title included a pivotal win over Raudondvaris in the opening match, setting the tone for the eventual rematch in the final. Each member of the French squad contributed significantly, with Franck Seguela emerging as a consistent offensive powerhouse and Hugo Suhard delivering clutch performances when it mattered most.

In the semifinals, Paris faced off against fellow French side Marseille, securing a narrow victory thanks to a crucial late bucket from Jules Rambaut. This win set up the final showdown against Raudondvaris, who had fought back impressively after their initial loss to Paris, securing key victories over Dusseldorf and Liman in the knockout stages.

The final saw Paris get off to a scorching start, with Paul Djoko and Hugo Suhard draining early shots from beyond the arc. Despite a strong presence in the paint from Raudondvaris, Paris maintained a slim advantage, leading 5-2 early on. The physical nature of the game saw both teams battling fiercely, with Djoko pushing the pace and drawing fouls. Raudondvaris kept the pressure on, narrowing the gap to just one point at 10-9.

However, Paris’s perimeter shooting proved decisive. Suhard and Seguela continued to deliver from long range, helping Paris to extend their lead to 16-11 with under two minutes remaining. A final surge from Suhard, followed by another bucket from Seguela, secured the victory for Paris, who held off a late comeback attempt from Raudondvaris to win 21-15.

Franck Seguela was the standout performer of the tournament, finishing with an impressive 37 points, the highest of any player. His efforts earned him the MVP title, a fitting recognition for his pivotal role in Paris’s triumph.

In the individual contests, Stefan Kojic of Liman (SRB) took home the Maurice Lacroix shoot-out contest title, while Doug Anderson wowed the crowd to win the Geneve Airport dunk contest.
