Nigerian Afrobeats star and songwriter, Simisola Kosoko, widely known as Simi, has shared the heartwarming reason she fell in love with her husband, fellow singer Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold.
The revelation came after Adekunle Gold impressed fans with his graphic design skills by editing a picture of Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya. The request had been made by Onakoya on X (formerly Twitter), and Adekunle Gold’s quick response and skillful editing received praise online.
Simi, who was clearly impressed, reposted her husband’s work and took the opportunity to share a personal detail about their relationship. “This was why I fell for you. I don’t know who sent you to start singing,” Simi wrote, playfully hinting at how his graphic design and photoshopping abilities initially won her heart.
Before Adekunle Gold became a household name in the music industry, he was known for his talent in graphic design and photoshopping. His skills were so impressive that they played a significant role in his early career before he was signed to Olamide’s record label, YBNL Nation.
The couple, who tied the knot on January 9, 2019, in a private ceremony in Lagos, welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020. Simi’s recent revelation has added another layer to their already admired relationship, showing that love can blossom in unexpected ways.
