2027 Presidential Bid Posters for Ganduje and Uzodinma Emerge Amid Rumors and Denials

Posters promoting a potential 2027 presidential bid by former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, have surfaced on social media, sparking widespread speculation. The posters suggest Ganduje, currently the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will run for president with Uzodinma, who chairs the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), as his vice-presidential candidate.

The campaign slogan, “For Nigerians, Prosperity and Human Capital Development,” indicates that the two prominent politicians may be eyeing the 2027 election under the APC banner. However, this development comes amid ongoing rumors of a plot to replace Ganduje as the party’s national chairman with an ambassadorial appointment—a claim that has been strongly refuted by the APC National Working Committee.

As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approaches the end of his first term in 2027, he has made it clear through his actions and statements, as well as those of his key officials, that he intends to seek re-election. Ganduje has consistently supported this, asserting that Tinubu will pursue and secure a second term. The emergence of these posters, however, seems to contradict Ganduje’s previous statements.

Reacting to the situation, Ganduje dismissed the posters as the work of “troublemakers and fifth columnists.” According to a report by Daily Trust, Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, labeled the posters as “ridiculous, immature, and extremely mischievous.” He accused those behind the posters of attempting to create discord between Ganduje and President Tinubu.

“This deliberate act aims to create discord between him and his brother and leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. However, they should refrain from further mischief, as President Tinubu will not be swayed by such obvious manipulation,” Olofu stated.
