LAGOS, Nigeria (ChatnewsTV) — The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into bribery allegations made by popular Nigerian social media personality Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, in a viral video.
In the video, shared by Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky alleged that some unnamed EFCC officers collected N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges. Bobrisky, who has faced legal issues in the past, made the explosive claim in the footage circulating widely across the country.
In response, Olukoyede moved quickly to address the allegations, forming a special investigative team to look into the matter. The EFCC has invited both Bobrisky and Otse to appear at the commission’s Lagos office to assist in the investigation.
According to a statement released by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity for the EFCC, the commission is taking the allegations seriously. “The EFCC wishes to assure the public that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated, and the result of the findings made public accordingly,” the statement read.
Oyewale further emphasized the commission’s dedication to upholding its core values. “The EFCC is committed to its core values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and collaboration at all times.”
