UYO, Nigeria (ChatnewsTV) — Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has named his daughter, Helen Eno-Obareki, as the Acting First Lady following the death of his wife. The announcement was made during a condolence visit by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the state capital.
Governor Eno said his daughter would collaborate with the deputy governor to ensure the smooth operation of the Office of the First Lady, continuing the initiatives started by her late mother.
“To maintain the Office of the First Lady and carry forward my late wife’s work, I present our daughter, Helen, to continue the duties of the office,” Eno stated. “She will work closely with the Deputy Governor and the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare.”
The governor expressed his confidence in Helen’s ability to uphold her mother’s legacy and effectively manage the responsibilities of her new role.
