WTO DG, Okonjo-Iweala Meets With Estonian President

Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, met with the President of Estonia, Alar Karis, on October 17 at the WTO headquarters in Geneva. The high-level discussion focused on the significance of a robust multilateral trading system under the WTO’s governance, particularly amid ongoing geopolitical challenges affecting global trade.

The meeting also comes at a special moment for Estonia, as the country will celebrate the 25th anniversary of joining the WTO on November 13, 2024. This milestone underscores Estonia’s long-standing commitment to global trade and economic cooperation.
