Netanyahu Calls Hezbollah Assassination Attempt a “Grave Mistake,” Vows to Continue War Efforts

Jerusalem – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned an alleged assassination attempt by Iran’s proxy group, Hezbollah, stating that it was a “grave mistake.” In a post on X on Saturday, Netanyahu asserted that this act will not deter Israel from pursuing its military objectives amid ongoing conflicts in the region.

“The attempt by Iran’s proxy Hezbollah to assassinate me and my wife today was a grave mistake,” Netanyahu said. He emphasized that Israel remains committed to its “just war against our enemies in order to secure our future.”

Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Iran and its allies, declaring, “Anyone who tries to harm Israel’s citizens will pay a heavy price.” He affirmed the government’s resolve to “continue to eliminate the terrorists and those who dispatch them.”

Furthermore, Netanyahu assured the public of Israel’s intentions to retrieve hostages held in Gaza and to ensure the safety of citizens living along the Northern border. “We will bring our hostages home from Gaza. And we will return our citizens who live on our Northern border safely to their homes,” he stated.

The Prime Minister expressed unwavering determination, insisting that Israel is poised to achieve its war objectives and alter the security landscape in the region for generations. “Israel is determined to achieve all our war objectives and change the security reality in our region for generations to come,” he declared.

Concluding his statement, Netanyahu called for unity in the face of adversity, saying, “Together, we will fight, and with God’s help – together, we will win.”
