RABAT, Morocco (ChatnewsTV) — Estonia expressed strong support for the various initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI aimed at promoting peace, stability, and socio-economic development in Africa. This endorsement came during a meeting in Rabat between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Estonian counterpart, Margus Tsahkna, on October 21, 2024.
In a joint declaration, Estonia welcomed several key initiatives, including the “Royal initiative to facilitate access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean,” the “Atlantic African States Process,” and the “Morocco–Nigeria Gas Pipeline” project. “These initiatives are vital for peace and development in the Atlantic and Sahel region,” the declaration stated.
Bourita and Tsahkna also reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the “Euro-Moroccan Partnership for Shared Prosperity,” an innovative framework designed to strengthen their strategic relationship. “This commitment aligns with the joint Morocco-EU declaration adopted during the 14th session of the Association Council, held on June 27, 2019, in Brussels,” the document noted.
Estonia highlighted Morocco’s political stability and the comprehensive reform agenda implemented under King Mohammed VI’s leadership. “These reforms have positioned Morocco as a vital and reliable partner for the European Union in the region,” Tsahkna remarked during the meeting.
The cooperation between Morocco and Estonia underscores a growing partnership aimed at addressing the challenges facing Africa while fostering sustainable development across the continent.
