Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, has officially been sworn in as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) at the union’s national secretariat in Abuja. His appointment follows a consensus election held during a meeting of union leaders in Osogbo, Osun State, on Saturday.
MC Oluomo, formerly the Chairman of the NURTW Lagos State Chapter, was introduced to the National Administrative Council (NAC) and the Central Working Committee (CWC) on Monday. The swearing-in was conducted by the union’s Legal Officer, Mercy Ibeh.
As part of the ceremony, Tajudeen Agbede and Akeem Adeosun were also inaugurated, taking up the roles of Vice President (Southwest) and Trustee, respectively.
In his acceptance speech, MC Oluomo expressed his gratitude and committed himself to advancing the union’s objectives. “I promise to lead the union to a greater height with the help of almighty Allah,” he declared.
