KANO — Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is set to officiate the marriage of Dr. Aisha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, daughter of former governor and 2023 NNPP presidential candidate Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to Engr. Fahad Dahiru Mangal, son of renowned Katsina business magnate Alhaji Dahiru Mangal. The wedding fatiha will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the historic Kofar Kudu palace of the Emir of Kano, Khalifa Dr. Muhammadu Sanusi II, with the ceremony beginning at 11 a.m.
In a statement released Tuesday by Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson, Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the governor expressed immense joy at the upcoming union, calling it a “celebration of families and communities” and extending a warm invitation to dignitaries, friends, and colleagues. “We wish to extend a special invitation to all friends and political associates across party lines for our daughter’s wedding, Dr. Aisha Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, and her husband-to-be, Engr. Fahad Dahiru Mangal,” said Gov. Yusuf.
The statement highlighted the anticipated presence of prominent figures from politics, business, and the traditional and religious sectors, promising a gathering of notable personalities. “This wedding will bring together friends, families, political associates, private sector leaders, captains of industry, and leaders across the religious and traditional spectrum,” noted Mr. Dawakin-Tofa.
With dignitaries expected from across Nigeria and beyond, security agencies have been instructed to ensure smooth and unobstructed movement between the Government House and the Emir’s palace. The families have emphasized that this joyous event will be celebrated amidst Kano’s esteemed cultural heritage, symbolizing unity between two illustrious families.
