RABAT, Morocco (ChatnewsTV) — The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced that the official draw for the 2024 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024. The ceremony will be held at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Sale, Morocco, starting at 8:00 p.m. local time (7:00 p.m. GMT).
CAF confirmed that the draw will be broadcast live across major TV networks in Africa and internationally, and will also be available on the CAF’s digital streaming platform, CAF TV. The draw will determine the matchups for Africa’s top 12 women’s national teams.
“This draw will set the stage for the 13th edition of the tournament, which promises to be an exciting competition,” a CAF spokesperson said, emphasizing the significance of the event for African women’s football.
The tournament itself is scheduled to run from July 5 to July 26, 2025, in Morocco. South Africa enters the competition as the defending champions, having clinched the title on Moroccan soil in 2022.
CAF has indicated that more information regarding the draw procedure and other details will be released in the coming days, as anticipation builds for the continent’s premier women’s football tournament.
