The United States government has expanded its sanctions regime, targeting additional Israeli individuals and entities for their involvement in violence and destabilizing activities in the West Bank.
According to a press statement released On Monday, these sanctions, implemented by the U.S. Department of State under Executive Order (E.O.) 14115, aim to address actions that threaten the safety of civilians, incite violence, and disrupt peace efforts in the region.
A U.S. State Department spokesperson stated, “These individuals and entities have been linked to violent actions against Palestinian civilians, including the destruction of property and the displacement of residents in the West Bank.”
The sanctions specifically target:
EYAL HARI YEHUDA COMPANY LTD (EYAL HARI), which is accused of providing material support, including vehicles, for the expansion of U.S.-designated MEITARIM FARM, a site linked to the dispossession of Palestinians.
ITAMAR YEHUDA LEVI (ITAMAR LEVI), the owner of EYAL HARI and brother of another sanctioned individual, YINON LEVI, who has been previously designated for his involvement in violent activities against Palestinian communities.
SHABTAI KOSHLEVSKY (KOSHLEVSKY), Vice President and Project Coordinator of HASHOMER YOSH, an organization involved in activities that destabilize the region and undermine Palestinian rights.
ZOHAR SABAH (SABAH), who has been implicated in planning and directing violent acts, including property destruction and physical threats against Palestinian civilians.
As a result of these sanctions, all property and interests of the designated individuals and entities within U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and U.S. persons are prohibited from engaging in transactions involving these entities. “We will continue to use the full extent of U.S. sanctions authorities to disrupt activities that perpetuate violence and instability in the region,” said the spokesperson.
The U.S. government emphasized that the goal of sanctions is to encourage positive change and alter harmful behaviors, rather than to punish the targeted individuals. Furthermore, the sanctions prohibit these designated individuals from entering the United States under Presidential Proclamation 8693.
