Norwegian Foreign Minister Welcomes ICC Arrest Warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant, and Al-Masri

OSLO (ChatnewsTV) — Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide has expressed support for the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants against three high-profile figures: Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The ICC’s move marks a significant development in the pursuit of accountability for alleged serious crimes.

“The International Criminal Court plays a crucial role in ensuring accountability for serious crimes,” said Eide in a statement issued on Thursday.

“It is important that the ICC carries out its mandate in a judicious manner.”

Eide emphasized his trust in the ICC’s legal process, noting that he believes the Court will handle the case with the utmost integrity.

“I have confidence that the Court will proceed with the case based on the highest fair trial standards,” he added.

The ICC’s issuance of these arrest warrants is likely to spark international debate, as it targets sitting officials in the Israeli government, raising questions about international jurisdiction and the enforcement of international law. The Norwegian Foreign Minister’s comments align with Norway’s historical support for global justice mechanisms, highlighting the importance of accountability in maintaining peace and security.
