ABUJA — The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has debunked reports claiming the recently re-streamed Port Harcourt Refinery has been shut down.
In a statement released on Saturday morning, NNPC Ltd. described the reports as “totally false,” assuring the public that the refinery remains operational.
“Such reports are the figments of the imagination of those who want to create artificial scarcity and rip off Nigerians,” said Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd.
The company stated that former Group Managing Directors of NNPC had verified the refinery’s functionality during a recent visit. Preparations for the day’s loading operations are currently underway.
NNPC Ltd. urged Nigerians to disregard the rumors, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring steady operations and safeguarding public interest.
