LAGOS, Nigeria (CHATNEWSTV) — Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has clarified that he is not involved in the ongoing feud between fellow artists Burna Boy and Speed Darlington, following recent controversy surrounding the duo.
During an Instagram live session, Kuti addressed fans who attempted to draw him into the saga, which stems from Speed Darlington’s arrest after accusing Burna Boy of engaging in illicit relations with American music mogul Diddy to secure a Grammy win.
“Don’t involve me in Burna Boy and Speed Darlington’s case,” Kuti said. “Just because I collected a diamond from Burna Boy doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser.”
Kuti also highlighted Diddy’s role in Speed Darlington’s rise to fame. “Diddy, whom Speed Darlington accused, was the one who made him popular. He reposted ‘Bangdadang,’ which made the song popular. I’ve done a lot of songs, and Diddy never posted any of them, but he reposted Speed Darlington’s,” he added.
The Grammy-nominated Afrobeat musician emphasized his neutrality in the dispute, urging fans not to entangle him in the matter. The feud has continued to generate buzz on social media, with fans of both artists engaging in heated debates.
