Wolfsburg, Germany (CHATNEWSTV) — Volkswagen Group has announced the merger of LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, with the mobility service units of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH (Elli).
According to a statement on Wednesday, the move aims to consolidate the company’s charging and fueling services under the newly formed Elli Mobility GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elli.
The strategic merger, set to take effect in March 2025, is part of Volkswagen’s broader effort to strengthen its position as a leading mobility provider in Europe.
The statement further stated that, the integration will bring together LOGPAY’s expertise in charge and fuel card services with Elli’s advanced e-mobility solutions, catering to both electric and mixed fleet households and businesses.
“By consolidating our efforts under one roof, we are increasing synergies and creating a robust, competitive offering that positions us as a leading mobility provider in Europe,” said Giovanni Palazzo, CEO of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH (Elli).
“It not only meets the needs of customers with electric vehicles but also the growing demands of ‘mixed’ households and fleets that include combustion engine cars.”
Volkswagen said the new company will streamline operations by offering customers a single contractual partner for all fuel, charging, and carwash services. Elli Mobility GmbH will also provide innovative solutions such as home and workplace charging and expanded coverage across Europe, ensuring accessibility and convenience.
Anthony Bandmann, Chief Sales Officer of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, highlighted the operational efficiency achieved through the merger.
“By merging LOGPAY Transport with Elli’s MSP and fleet activities, we are bringing together what naturally belongs together. This strengthens the crucial business of charging and fueling cards within the Volkswagen Group, reduces redundancies, and allows us to offer our customers everything from a single source in the future,” Bandmann said.
Elli Mobility GmbH will be led by Joschi Jennermann as CEO and Sebastian Steffen as CFO. The company’s goal is to drive the transition to sustainable mobility while addressing diverse market needs, particularly as Europe undergoes a significant e-mobility transformation.
Volkswagen’s commitment to seamless mobility services aligns with the automotive industry’s shift toward electrification and sustainability.
“This integration reflects Volkswagen’s leadership in offering comprehensive mobility solutions for the future,” Palazzo added.
With this merger, Volkswagen Group aims to position itself as a key player in Europe’s evolving mobility landscape, ensuring that both private and business customers can access intelligent, all-in-one solutions for their transportation needs.
