Karlsruhe, Germany – An alleged Moroccan spy has been detained at Frankfurt Airport after being transferred from Spain, German police said on Thursday.
The man, a Moroccan national, was held in Spain on December 1 on the basis of a European arrest warrant issued in February 2023.
He was transported to Germany on Wednesday, where he was met by federal police.
The German Public Prosecutor’s Office has accused the man of spying for a Moroccan secret service since January 2022.
An investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice ordered pre-trial detention for the man.
