STOCKHOLM (CHATNEWSTV) — The Swedish government has expanded its export credit guarantees for businesses working in Ukraine, aiming to boost the country’s sustainable reconstruction amid the ongoing war.
The updated framework, which took effect on February 1, raises the total available guarantees from SEK 333 million to SEK 888 million and extends maturities from three to four years. Coverage has also increased from 80% to a maximum of 95%, and businesses within the same corporate group can now access up to SEK 300 million, up from SEK 100 million.
“Swedish businesses both want and are able to contribute more to Ukraine’s reconstruction, but they need support that mitigates the risk,” said Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa. “The aim of amending the conditions is to make it easier and safer for Swedish companies to export to Ukraine.”
The special export credit guarantee program, launched in April 2024, allows Swedish businesses to apply for financial protection through the Swedish Export Credit Agency for projects that support economic and social development in Ukraine.
With the expanded framework, Sweden aims to encourage more private sector involvement in rebuilding Ukraine’s infrastructure, industries, and public services.
