WASHINGTON (CHATNEWSTV) — Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on Thursday, emphasizing the need for diplomacy to bring the war to a negotiated resolution, according to a State Department readout.
“They discussed the need for bold diplomacy to end the war in a negotiated manner leading to a sustainable peace,” State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a statement.
Rubio reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to Ukraine’s independence and regional stability as the conflict with Russia continues.
The call comes as Ukraine seeks continued international support amid ongoing hostilities and diplomatic efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire.
