Audi Reports 1.7 Million Deliveries in 2024 Amid Challenging Market Conditions

INGOLSTADT, Germany (CHATNEWSTV) — Audi delivered approximately 1.7 million vehicles worldwide in 2024, including over 164,000 fully electric models, the automaker announced Monday. The overall figures mark an 11.8% decline from 2023, attributed to economic challenges, supply chain disruptions, and a transitional product lineup.

“We have a clear vision of how we are redefining Vorsprung durch Technik,” said Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi. “The year 2024 was part of a transitional phase as we move towards our new product portfolio. Despite global economic uncertainties and intensified competition, we are confident in achieving our long-term goals.”

Audi introduced over 20 new models in 2024 and 2025, including the all-electric Q6 e-tron and A6 e-tron, as well as revamped combustion-engine models like the A5 and Q5. The automaker plans further updates in 2025, including the launch of new plug-in hybrid models and redesigned versions of the A7 and Q3.

Global Challenges and Regional Performance
Economic stagnation and geopolitical tensions significantly impacted the automotive industry in 2024. Audi Board Member for Sales and Marketing Marco Schubert noted a cautious consumer sentiment, particularly for electric vehicles, due to uncertainty around government incentives.

“A transitional year like 2024 comes with challenges,” Schubert said. “While new models are entering the market, they will take time to contribute significantly to sales volumes. Despite this, we remain flexible and robust with our three-pronged approach of electric cars, plug-in hybrids, and combustion-engine vehicles.”

Audi’s fully electric lineup saw global deliveries of 164,000 units, an 8% decline. The Q4 e-tron was a standout, with nearly 108,000 units sold.

Regional Highlights:

Europe (excluding Germany): 466,000 vehicles delivered (–6%), with 81,000 fully electric units (+6%).
Germany: 198,000 deliveries (–21%), including 22,000 fully electric vehicles (–33%).
North America: 241,000 vehicles sold (–13%), including 29,000 fully electric models (–6%).
China: 649,000 vehicles delivered (–11%).
Overseas and Emerging Markets: 116,000 deliveries (–18%).
Despite overall declines, Audi Sport models performed well in the United States, with over 9,000 units sold—a 4% increase, marking their best result to date.

Looking Ahead
Audi’s revamped lineup aims to offset transitional-year challenges by enhancing its competitive edge in the global automotive market.

“With a clear strategy and the strong commitment of our retail partners and international teams, we are setting ourselves up for the future,” Schubert said.

The company plans to continue expanding its electric and hybrid offerings while maintaining a flexible approach to meet evolving consumer preferences.
