For major film premieres at the Berlinale Palast, an increase of €2 ($2.09) per ticket is planned to cover some of the cost increases, she said. This year’s tickets at the Berlinale Palast at Potsdamer Platz were €18. For regular screenings, they were priced at €15.
There are still some discounts for certain groups, Tuttle said. Moreover, she said they plan to develop an “even more attractive offering” for young audiences to participate in the festival in the coming years.
Tuttle settling into Berlin
The 75th edition of the Berlinale is scheduled from February 13-23. Tuttle, who is from North Carolina in the south-eastern United States, took over the leadership of the film festival in April and said she has now settled into the German capital.
She spent much of the last year and a half shuttling back and forth between Berlin and London, “due to family,” she said. Tuttle, who has 17-year-old twins, has had senior roles at the British Film Institute, according to a biography published by the Berlinale.
