ABUJA, Nigeria (ChatnewsTV) — The House of Representatives has launched an investigation into allegations that controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, paid N15 million in bribes to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have money laundering charges dropped.
The hearing, organized by the House Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions, commenced at 2:05 p.m. on Monday, with the appearance of social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.
The case emerged after VDM released an audio recording purportedly of Bobrisky, in which the cross-dresser allegedly claimed EFCC officials demanded N15 million to dismiss charges against him. Bobrisky was also heard boasting that he did not spend time in prison following his conviction, claiming a “godfather” arranged for him to serve his sentence in a lodge rather than in jail, implicating the Nigerian Correctional Services.
Despite the gravity of the accusations, Bobrisky did not attend the hearing in person. His lawyer appeared on his behalf, leaving many awaiting his direct response to the allegations.
