Agency Report –
The letter was made available to the German Press Agency. It was first reported in the “Bild” newspaper.
The letter comes from the “Aktionsbündnis Wirtschaftswarntag”. Under this motto, numerous associations demonstrated two months ago with rallies in several major German cities for a change in economic policy.
“We believe that you are striving for a new beginning for Germany, that you want to make Germany an economically and defensively strong country,” the letter reads. With regard to the huge loan package for defense, infrastructure and climate protection, it continues: “But good economic policy needs more than debt. We need
framework conditions that make it attractive for companies from Germany and abroad to invest here and give our country’s SMEs prospects for the future.”
The list includes well-known demands such as a comprehensive reduction in bureaucracy, tax cuts, a reduction in social security contributions and energy costs or more flexibility in labor law.
