Cargo Plane Crash-Lands at Abuja Airport

A cargo aircraft operated by Allied Air crash-landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja (NAIA) on Wednesday morning after experiencing a landing gear failure.
The incident occurred at around 10:00 am, and fortunately, none of the six crew members on board were injured.

The crew members were quickly evacuated from the aircraft, which has the registration number 5N-JRT, and are currently undergoing medical checks at the 063 Nigerian Air Force (NAF) medical unit.

Emergency responders swiftly secured the crash site, cordoning off the area under the supervision of the Military Airport Commandant (MAC) and other relevant agencies.

As a result of the incident, the airport’s runway has been temporarily closed, causing delays to inbound and outbound flights.

Airport authorities, including the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), are working to remove the aircraft and inspect the runway for potential damage.
