AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler is officially 100 years old — and it’s marking the milestone with a tribute to its workforce, a summer of enthusiast events, and a nod to its founder’s legacy.
More than 1,500 Stellantis employees gathered this week at the Chrysler Technology Center to pose for a commemorative group photo and dedicate a replica of Walter P. Chrysler’s toolbox as a time capsule, part of the brand’s Century of Innovation celebration.
“Chrysler held a pivotal role in shaping both the automotive industry and American culture, standing as a symbol of innovation, resilience, and breakthrough design for 100 years,” said Chrysler Brand CEO Chris Feuell. “But Chrysler is more than a brand—it’s a legacy built by generations of passionate employees, and we’re proud to celebrate their contributions as we look ahead to an exciting new era for the next century.”
The toolbox, modeled after the one used by Walter P. Chrysler as a machinist, contains historic badges, brochures, vehicle sketches, and a letter from Feuell addressed to future employees and customers. The names of all photo participants were also included.
Employees also received commemorative T-shirts and cupcakes as part of the June 5 celebration.
The company announced that the Chrysler Century of Innovation will continue through the summer with public activations at major events, including the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in Pennsylvania (July 11–13) and the iconic Woodward Dream Cruise in Metro Detroit (August 16).
Chrysler is also rolling out a seven-part social media video series highlighting key moments, innovations, and figures from its century-long history. The latest installment, “Automotive Legend: Walter P. Chrysler,” profiles the brand’s founder and his impact on the auto industry. Videos are available on Chrysler and Stellantis North America’s YouTube and social media platforms.
A Century of Innovation sales event launches this month, alongside the release of a 100th anniversary merchandise line, available at Collection.Chrysler.com.
Chrysler’s legacy includes milestones like the launch of the powerful HEMI® V-8, invention of the minivan, and the debut of the Stow ‘n Go seating system. Looking forward, the brand plans to release a refreshed Pacifica in 2026, followed by a new crossover and a model inspired by the futuristic Halcyon concept.
As Feuell put it: “We’re honoring the past, celebrating the present, and accelerating into a bold future.”
