SANDTON, South Africa (chatnewstv.com) — CLG Global, a South African-headquartered law firm has terminated Zion Adeoye as its chief executive officer following what the firm described as a thorough internal and external investigation that found serious personal and professional conduct violations.
The decision followed a disciplinary hearing chaired by Sbongiseni Dube and was conducted in line with South Africa’s Labour Relations Act and its Code of Good Practice, the firm said in a statement issued Wednesday.
According to CLG, Adeoye was found responsible for multiple offenses, including making malicious and defamatory statements against colleagues, extortion, intimidation, fraud, misuse of company funds, theft and misappropriation of funds, breach of fiduciary duty and mismanagement.

“Misconduct of any kind is unacceptable and will be addressed decisively,” the company said.
CLG said Adeoye’s actions were in direct contradiction to the firm’s core values and acknowledged the impact the matter has had on staff.

The firm also thanked employees who came forward during the investigation and sought to reassure staff of its commitment to maintaining a respectful and professional workplace.
In addition, CLG said the matter has been referred to law enforcement, regulatory and legal authorities in Nigeria, Mauritius and South Africa. The company asked that the privacy of third parties involved be respected.
Adeoye did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
