Communities and stakeholders of Uzo Uwani LGA in Enugu State have expressed their deep appreciation for Governor Dr. Peter Mbah and party leaders following the nomination of Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate in the upcoming local government council elections this October. They unanimously declared him as the unrivaled choice for the position.
Rejecting recent negative media coverage, they described these attacks on Ezugwu’s candidacy as “exaggerated and malicious,” dismissing them as desperate attempts by individuals with ill intentions toward Uzo Uwani.
In a joint statement, the traditional leader of Nkpologu community, HRH Igwe Simeon Idu, and Igwe Jude Okeke of Nkpunator autonomous community, lauded Ezugwu, calling him “the right man for the job,” and a “dedicated servant” who has consistently proven his commitment to Uzo Uwani in various roles.
“The Igwe in Council and the Town Union of Nkpologu Attah community extend their heartfelt gratitude to Governor Dr. Peter Mbah and the PDP delegates, whose insightful endorsement and nomination of Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu as our chairmanship candidate reflect wisdom and conviction,” they proclaimed.
They further described Ezugwu as “a pillar of strength” in the local government area, highlighting his past roles as former PDP Youth Leader, former Councillor for Nkpologu Ward, and Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Uzo-Uwani LGA, where he played a significant role in maintaining peace and security in the region.
Expressing their dismay at what they called “malicious and unfounded attacks” on Ezugwu, they emphasized his unblemished character and legal career. “The accusations leveled by these faceless individuals are not only baseless but also aimed solely at defaming a man whose character shines with integrity,” they stated.
The Nkpologu community, through its leaders, issued a stern warning against any further defamation or character assassination attempts against Ezugwu, affirming their unwavering support for him in all his political endeavors.
