Comptroller Atuluku upped Revenue Generation at Customs Area 1 PH, Rakes in Historic N33.7B

The Nigeria Customs Service, Port Harcourt Area I command, says it has generated historic revenue of over N33.7billion in the month of October 2025, surpassing the annual target with two months left in the year.

This disclosure was made by the Customs Area Controller,  Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku while briefing  news men in her office weekend in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state Capital.

Comptroller Atuluku stated that it was with great pleasure to brief the press on her remarkable achievements recorded at the Nigeria Customs Service, Port Harcourt Area I Command, particularly in the areas of revenue collection, trade facilitation, and enforcement of government fiscal policies.

She noted that the Command’s performance in the month of October 2025, and cumulatively from January to October 2025, reflected not just figures, but of dedication, reform, and collaboration.

She added that such demonstrated how, through teamwork and innovation, the Command has continued to promote legitimate trade, blocked revenue leakages, and contributed significantly to national development.

The customs Area 1 boss insisted “For the month of October 2025, the Port Harcourt Area I Command collected significant total revenue of 33.753 Billion Naira, as against N9.079 Billion Naira collected in the corresponding month of October 2024.”

The amount, according to her, was the highest revenue collection in the history of the Command, and represented an extraordinary increase of about 272 percent, a record that stood as a testament to the command’s collective commitment and the improved efficiency of its operational processes.

She emphasized that equally impressive was the Command’s cumulative revenue from January to October 2025, which stood at N247.461 Billion Naira, compared to N164.080 Billion Naira collected within the same period in 2024 which she said translated to a commendable growth of about 51 percent, demonstrating the Command’s steady and consistent Revenue generation increase

She averred that with the  2025 annual revenue target of N216 billion Naira and a monthly average target of B18.07 billion Naira,  “I am pleased to inform you that as at October 2025, the Command has already surpassed its annual target by over N31  billion Naira, with two powerful ember months to go.”

The CAC emphasized that, “This achievement is not accidental. It is the result of strategic leadership, renewed operational discipline, and the unwavering dedication of officers and men under my watch.”

She maintained that one of the innovative tools that has greatly enhanced the  command’s revenue performance  was the Unified Customs Management System popularly known as B’ Odogwu, a digital analytics and monitoring platform designed to track, analyze, and optimize revenue collection processes.

She reiterated that through B’odogwu, her command has been able to identify bottlenecks, improve data accuracy, and ensure real-time revenue accountability.

This innovation, according to her, has greatly supported their drive towards operational transparency and efficiency.

Comptroller Atuluku added “We have also strengthened collaboration with stakeholders, including sister government agencies, to ensure that all processes are conducted with mutual respect, accountability, and understanding even as she insisted that their partnership with stakeholders has  continued  to yield positive results, in enhancing transparency, encouraging voluntary compliance, and reducing disputes at the port.

Furthermore, the Customs chief commended the officers and men of the Port Harcourt Area I Command for their integrity, and tireless efforts in delivering on their mandate.

“Despite operational challenges, they have demonstrated exceptional commitment to duty and embraced innovation in their daily assignments” Compt Atuluku said.
