Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido’s name has surfaced in King Charles III’s special Commonwealth Music playlist.
The playlist, set for release on Monday, March 11, celebrates music from Commonwealth nations as part of Commonwealth Day events.
The project titled ‘The King’s Music Room’, features Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, and Raye, alongside Davido.
The playlist curated by King Charles III, in collaboration with Apple Music, reflects songs that bring him joy and nostalgia from different periods of his life.
The King said in a statement, “Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me.”
The British monarch, known for his love of reggae and African music, visited Bob Marley’s home in Jamaica years ago.
A preview of the project showed the Buckingham Palace guards playing Bob Marley’s ‘Could You Be Loved’.
King Charles highlighted the power of music, stating that it comforts sad times, lifts spirits, and brings people together in celebration.
