MARRAKECH, Morocco (CHATNEWSTV) — Tanzanian music icon Diamond Platnumz and Moroccan R&B sensation Dystinct will take center stage at the 2024 CAF Awards on Monday night, blending Africa’s football excellence with its vibrant entertainment scene.
The glittering ceremony, set for 7 p.m. local time at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, will honor the continent’s best players, coaches, and teams over the past year while showcasing top-tier musical and dance performances.
Diamond Platnumz, celebrated for his Bongo Flava and Afrobeat fusion, has become a global star. “It’s always a privilege to represent Africa on such platforms,” said the award-winning singer, who boasts over 900 million YouTube views and four acclaimed albums, including A Boy from Tandale.
Joining him is Dystinct, a Moroccan artist known for seamlessly blending R&B, Afrobeat, and Arabic influences. His unique sound has earned accolades from albums like Mon Voyage and Layali. “It’s an honor to perform at an event that celebrates African excellence in every form,” Dystinct said.
The night will also feature Trio Andalou’s orchestral melodies, Women in Jazz’s dynamic performances, and a dance showcase choreographed by Casablanca’s Adil Nakach.
