Stenbock House, 12 November 2023 – Prime Minister Kaja Kallas is gearing up for a crucial working visit to Washington D.C. scheduled for 13–14 November. During her stay, Prime Minister Kallas is slated to engage in discussions with key figures from the U.S. administration and Congress.
The Prime Minister’s agenda encompasses delivering public addresses focusing on defense-related matters, meetings with representatives from various public institutions and think tanks, and the inauguration of the newly renovated Estonian Embassy in Washington.
Highlighting the significance of the visit, Prime Minister Kallas emphasized, “The U.S. is a crucial ally and friend, playing a leading role in supporting Ukraine within the free world. Face-to-face communication is essential, and in Washington, I am scheduled for important political meetings, public speeches, and interviews.”
On Monday, 13 November, Prime Minister Kaja Kallas is set to receive the prestigious Jeane J. Kirkpatrick Award from the International Republican Institute (IRI). This recognition acknowledges Kallas and Estonia for their commitment to open governance, democratic values, and their efforts in addressing geopolitical challenges. The award is named after Jeane J. Kirkpatrick, the first female UN ambassador of the United States and a renowned foreign policy thinker who served as a foreign policy adviser to President Reagan.
