CAPE TOWN, South Africa, Oct. 10, 2025 (Chatnewstv.com) — Estonia’s flagship technology and startup event, Latitude59, is expanding to Africa with its first-ever Cape Town satellite edition this November, aiming to connect South African and Estonian founders, investors, and innovators in a night of collaboration and storytelling.
Latitude59 CEO Liisi Org said the event seeks to highlight the shared entrepreneurial spirit driving both nations’ tech ecosystems.
“Estonia has proven that a nation of just 1.3 million people can lead in digital innovation, produce unicorns, and shape global tech conversations,” Org said. “Cape Town, as Africa’s startup hub, is redefining what’s possible with creativity, resilience, and diversity. This evening is about showing that innovation doesn’t depend on zip codes – it’s for dreamers and doers bold enough to build.”
While Latitude59 will also host its Kenya edition from December 3–5, Org noted that the Cape Town gathering will offer a “more intimate evening” focused on personal connections.
“This is a chance to meet face-to-face, share founder journeys, and build bridges that can grow into lasting collaborations,” she said.
Estonia’s Ambassador to Kenya and South Africa, Daniel Schaer, said such partnerships play a vital role in strengthening global startup ecosystems.
“When South African entrepreneurial energy meets Estonia’s world-leading digital know-how, we’re not just exchanging ideas — we’re building ecosystems,” Schaer said. “Founders thrive when they connect across borders, share lessons, and turn challenges into opportunities – and Cape Town is the perfect place for this dialogue.”
The Latitude59 x Cape Town satellite event is organized in collaboration with the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Africa Tech Festival, with partial funding from the European Union – Next Generation EU. The evening program, running from 17:00 to 22:00, will feature a founder panel, startup pitching, insights into Estonia’s e-Residency program, and networking sessions.
Earlier this year, Latitude59 celebrated its 13th edition in Tallinn, drawing over 3,500 participants from 70 countries, including 900 startups, 700 investors, and 170 speakers across multiple stages.
Registration for the Cape Town satellite and Latitude59 Kenya Edition 2025 (December 3–5 at A.S.K Dome, Nairobi) is now open.
