Agency Report –
The NFL match in Berlin will take place on November 9, with the Atlanta Falcons named the opponents of the Indianapolis Colts in the German capital.
Sources told dpa that the date and the second team are now confirmed, with an official announcement from the league expected later on Tuesday.
The Colts had earlier been announced as returning to Germany where they beat the New England Patriots 10-6 in Frankfurt in 2023. The Falcons travel to Germany for the first time.
The Colts and Falcons have two German players each in their squads in the form of Maximilian Mang and Marcel Dabo as well as Lenny Krieg a Kilian Zierer, respectively.
The Berlin game is the fifth NFL season game in Germany after a start in 2022 with so far two games each in Munich and Frankfurt. Berlin has in the past staged pre-season matches.
The German capital will host up to three games in a deal until 2029 with the Olympic Stadium. The contract costs the city €12.5 million ($14 million) but they expect a tourism boost.
