All games in the German Bundesliga and second division will soon be available to watch in South Africa and Vietnam after the German Football League (DFL) extended its Bundesliga Pass service.
India became the first country outside of Germany to have access to all first and second-tier German games via the service in August. The Bundesliga is trying to copy the NFL and NBA passes which have been successful for American Football and North American basketball.
Viewers in South Africa and Vietnam will be able to buy a season pass or pay for individual games. The deal is part of a cooperation with media group OneFootball.
“The media landscape and the media usage behaviour of fans have changed. This partnership and the new offering are an important building block for reaching football fans around the world,” DFL chief Marc Lenz said in a statement on Tuesday.
