Germany set for women’s match attendance record of 57,000 in Hamburg

Hamburg – Germany will see a new attendance record in women’s football as SV Hamburg have sold all 57,000 tickets for a Cup semi-final on March 23 against Werder Bremen

 Hamburg made the announcement on Friday, speaking of a “historic milestone.” The match is played in the Volkspart Stadium where the men normally play.

Up to now, the best attended women’s game was the 2023 Cup final between Wolfsburg and Freiburg in Cologne, which attracted 44,808 fans. That mark was already passed last week in sales for the Hamburg match.

The world record attendance for women is 91,648 from Barcelona’s Champions League match against Wolfsburg in 2022.
