Gov. Yusuf Condoles With Families of Deceased Police Personnel

KANO, Sept. 28, 2024 (ChatnewsTV) – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of five police personnel who died in a tragic motor accident in Karfi town along the Kano-Zaria road last Tuesday. The officers were returning from Edo State following their deployment for the recent governorship election.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued on Saturday by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

According to the statement, Governor Yusuf, accompanied by senior government officials, visited the Bichi Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force to sympathise with the families of the deceased officers as well as those injured in the accident.

“On behalf of the government and the people of Kano, I pray for Almighty Allah to grant the departed souls eternal rest in Jannatul Firdausi, provide speedy recovery for the injured, and protect us from such tragedies in the future,” the Governor was quoted as saying.

In addition to offering prayers, Governor Yusuf announced a cash donation of five hundred thousand naira to each of the families of the five deceased personnel, and two hundred and fifty thousand naira to each of the eleven injured officers.

It may be recalled that five police personnel attached to the Bichi Area Command lost their lives in the accident while returning from election duties in Edo State.
