Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has hailed President Bola Tinubu for appointing Dame Didi Esther Walson-Jack, as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Mr Fubara also commended the new Head of Service for breaking the glass ceiling as an ambassador of Rivers State and the Niger Delta region, describing her as a trailblazer.
In a statement issued Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor noted that throughout her remarkable career in the Civil Service, culminating in her appointment as a Permanent Secretary in 2017, she has demonstrated exemplary leadership, a high level of integrity, courage, perseverance, and resilience.
Mr Fubara added that Mrs Walson-Jack’s distinguished and exceptional public service career will inspire many young girls in the state to strive to achieve great heights in their lives.
He stated: “As you assume duties as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation effective 14th August, we are proud of the significant milestone you have achieved in your public service career.”
Mr Fubara stressed that Mr Tinubu’s uniquely gratifying thoughtfulness and belief in merit in appointing Mrs Walson-Jack is worthy of emulation and commended him for being a father to all.
Mr Fubara noted that the President has once again shown that he is a leader committed to fairness, justice, and national integration while upholding the principles of federal character in his administration.
He expressed hope that the new HoS will bring her wealth of experience to bear in this role and introduce innovative approaches to implementing the service reforms outlined in Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the benefit of Nigerians.
