Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has approved the immediate suspension of Auwalu Dalladi Sankara, the state’s Commissioner of Special Duties, pending an investigation into allegations leveled against him by the Kano State Hisbah.
The suspension follows reports that Sankara was arrested by operatives of the Kano Hisbah after being found with a married woman in an uncompleted building in Kano.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, Bala Ibrahim, the state emphasized that the decision was made to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of the administration.
“The suspension is a precautionary measure intended to facilitate a fair investigation,” the statement read.
According to the SSG, the governor is committed to ensuring accountability and maintaining ethical standards in governance.
“We take all allegations seriously and are dedicated to upholding the trust of Jigawa citizens in the government,” Ibrahim added.
The investigation is expected to be thorough, with the state reiterating its dedication to upholding law and order in the administration.
