Labour Party Drops Petition Against Election Of Governor Fubara

The Labour Party (LP) has dropped its petition against the election of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2023 poll.

Recall the LP governorship candidate, Beatrice Itubo, while meeting with the Governor earlier this week had hinted at a possible collaboration between both parties.

She, however, did not give details if she was dumping the LP for the PDP or just in talks to support the Fubara-led administration from her party.

Itubo disclosed that she would only give details when they concluded their deliberations.

The announcement signals a fresh union between a major opposition party in the state with the embattled governor.
