Natasha Osaworu, Edo State lawmaker and fiancée of Nigerian music icon 2Baba, sparked laughter among her colleagues during a plenary session at the Edo State House of Assembly when she introduced herself as “Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osaworu, née Idibia”.
The amusement stemmed from her well-known connection to 2Baba, whose real name is Innocent Ujah Idibia.
Osaworu’s introduction came just days after she was removed as the minority leader of the state house of assembly, following a shift in the party’s majority status after four PDP lawmakers defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). She was removed alongside Charity Aiguobarueghian, the former majority leader, and Yekini Idaiye, who served as chief whip of the house.
The lawmaker’s relationship with 2Baba has been under scrutiny since the singer announced his split from Annie Idibia in January and confirmed his relationship with Osaworu. In February, 2Baba proposed to Osaworu, insisting their relationship had nothing to do with his separation from Annie.
