Agency Report –
Leipzig have just one victory from their last seven games and slipped out of the top four guaranteeing Champions League football. They lost 2-1 at home against fourth placed Mainz and now face Freiburg who in fifth are two points ahead of them.
Rose has a contract until 2026 and Leipzig are in the German Cup semi-finals but his situation is as precarious as in December when he was close to being axed, with victory a must on Saturday.
“If the topic of Marco Rose is raised for months, then it can only be influenced by results. I know that too,” he told reporters on Friday.
“I don’t take it personally, it’s normal. The best answer would be a win in Freiburg, then we would have a few days’ peace.”
Leipzig held a mini training camp in Austria this week, and Rose said that “it was a good decision when you see the atmosphere over the last two days.”
