Monrovia, August 7, 2024 — The Office of the President of Liberia has officially refuted claims circulating about the withdrawal of Cllr. Johnathan Massaquoi’s appointment as the Executive Director of the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court.
In a statement issued today, the Presidential Office clarified that Cllr. Massaquoi remains in his position. The statement emphasized that the Executive Director is currently on an official mission abroad representing the interests of the office. Cllr. Massaquoi is expected to submit a comprehensive report to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. upon his return.
“The reports suggesting that President Boakai has withdrawn Cllr. Massaquoi’s appointment are unfounded,” said a spokesperson from the Presidential Office. “Cllr. Massaquoi is actively engaged in an important mission abroad and will continue to serve as Executive Director upon his return.”
The statement also urged the public to rely solely on official government sources for accurate information regarding official matters.
