Manchester United have finalized the signing of highly-regarded Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte in a deal valued at up to €60 million. The transfer was confirmed by Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, declaring it a “done deal.”
“Manuel Ugarte to Manchester United, here we go! Deal sealed between clubs after personal terms agreed in July,” Romano announced. “€50m fixed fee plus €10m in add-ons will be the final package. Ugarte will travel to Manchester as he ONLY wanted United… and United only wanted him. Done.”
The confirmation follows weeks of speculation, including reports that super agent Jorge Mendes had flown to England to negotiate Ugarte’s potential move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have been in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain throughout the summer, as manager Erik ten Hag aims to strengthen his midfield options ahead of the new season. Ugarte’s arrival is expected to be a significant addition to United’s squad as they look to compete on multiple fronts.
