Missing UNIPORT Undergraduate Dismembered Corpse Found In lover’s Apartment

A man, simply identified as Collins, has been arrested following the alleged murder of his female partner, a 300-level undergraduate at the University of Port Harcourt.

The tragic incident occurred along NTA Road, Mgbuoba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The deceased, Justina Otuene Nkang, a Biological Chemistry student, was reported missing four days ago.

She was said to be undergoing her Industrial Training attachment at a popular private hospital located in the D/Line axis of Port Harcourt, where she was last seen.

A source close to the victim said Justina’s decomposing and mutilated remains were seen in her boyfriend’s apartment, whom she had visited after the close of work at the hospital four days ago.

According to the source, the deceased was murdered by her lover for ritual purposes, as her breast, eyes and other sensitive parts of her body were mutilated.

The source stated, “So he (the suspect) after committing the crime kept her body in his apartment for three days and just when he wanted to dispose her corpse in refuse dump, a vigilante group in the area accosted him, leading to his arrest.”

Meanwhile, a viral online post seen by our correspondent on Thursday morning read, “Otuene Justina Nkang was reported to be missing four days ago.

“She was a 300 levels student of Biological Chemistry in UNIPORT, but unfortunately, she was killed by her boyfriend who tried disposing of her body this evening but was caught. The suspect has been handed over to the police.”

When contacted, spokesperson for the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, told our correspondent that the Commissioner of Police, Emeka Nwaonyi, will be addressing the press on the matter later on Thursday.

She stated, “The CP will be having a press briefing by 11 a.m. today; you will get details of the incident when you come.”
