Agency Report –
Older audiences may remember Gillian Anderson as Agent Scully from the iconic sci-fi series “The X-Files,” while younger viewers know her as the candid mother and therapist in “Sex Education.”
Now, the acclaimed actress is set to attend the Munich Film Festival this summer, where she will be honoured with the prestigious CineMerit Award.
The festival is recognising the US-born actress for “repeatedly (demonstrating) her versatility both on and off the screen.”
Organizers praised Anderson as a symbol of female strength, thoughtful choices and as a role model known for her integrity and presence.
The CineMerit Award – an honorary accolade – will be presented to Anderson at a gala during the festival, which runs from June 27 to July 6.
Following the ceremony, the German premiere of her latest film, “The Salt Path,” will be screened.
The British drama, based on Raynor Winn’s bestselling memoir, stars Anderson and “White Lotus” actor Jason Isaacs, a married couple who suddenly lose everything.
The pair then embark on a 1,000-kilometre trek along the coast of south-west England in search of healing and hope.
