During a fan club visit on Sunday, Musiala was asked by a young supporter what was the current situation regarding his new deal with the German record champions.
Musiala replied: “There’s not much to say right now. As you can see, I feel good, we’re in talks. Let’s see,” he said according to a video posted by broadcaster Sky.
His current contract with Bayern runs until June 2026 and there has been speculation over his future at the club for a while.
“Of course, we have a huge interest in keeping Jamal at Bayern in the long term. We are also doing an incredible effort to achieve this and I am also cautiously positive,” Bayern president Herbert Hainer recently said.
Neuer, meanwhile, visited a different fan club, but the 38-year-old was asked the same question over his future at Bayern. His contract expires at the end of the season, but the goalkeeper said that he wants to play his 15th year at the club.
“My contract doesn’t need a lot of pages. I think both sides would be happy if it continued. But there’s no rush for now. First of all I need to get healthy. I still have something going on with my rib,” he said.
Neuer has missed Bayern’s last two games due to rib issues and is expected to return in 2025. There’s been speculation whether Neuer could end his club career after he retired from the Germany national team following this year’s Euro 2024.
On Saturday, Bayern suffered their first defeat of the Bundesliga season as they were stunned 2-1 at Mainz.
